I opened up a simulator investing account and invested in the top 10 most voted not to perform in January 2023, I bought 10k each in each stock. As of today this simulator account is up 94%. Food for thought!

I am not necessarily a day trader but I do trade here and there when it makes sense. I am right in line with the market over the past 6 years (around 15%). This is a mixture of having premium funds, index, reits, and other dividend yielding stocks. Unlike most folks who look to day trade, I have a business degree, taken multitude college level courses on economics and finance, and learned hard lessons by losing a good chunk of money. The main thing I have learned is to drop the ego, filter information better, and not be afraid of speaking with more experienced analysts. Anyone who tells you that you can make 1% per day is selling you a big old bag of magic beans.

They dont succeed fulltime mostly because they don't have 2 years or more of cash or investments to live on to learn how to do it properly. If your putting pressure on yourself to make money weekly or monthly to pay bills will make you fail easy. Thats why swing trading is better.

The thing about your chart of 1% gains is once you have htat much mieny you cannot just get in and out easily witht those large amounts, hence why it starts to become impossible.

back again. i just got funded for a large amount of capital at a daytrading firm & got my first $15k payout for the month. yes the odds may seem stacked against you but dont let channels like this deter you from the life you invision for yourself. before i made it daytrading i was fucking my life up in so many ways but trading saved it in every way & i can now not only afford to save myself but raise a family too. thank you nasdaq and fuck you for spreading misinformation.

What else I hate about finance RUclipsrs is that they think they know when to pull out to make profits. All they do is look at the past data and say I made 10K here and 5Kthere based on the history data. So dumb.

In day trading the draw down kills you, then you get out just to see it go your way! I've done the moron trade many time, use one contract goes against you then add another one then another, then another then you realize it's going down not up! Tradingveiw charts are helpful, you look at 1,3,5 min charts then you say I coulda have made a trade here, here, & there. Real Live trading it don't work that way! I just signed up with Topstep $19 try my luck! If I lose I only lost $19 but it I win long term I should make money!

There are people in here asking what the difference is between green colored premiums and red lol please be careful guys. If you don’t know anything about options don’t write/sell them. There’s an unlimited loss potential and if you don’t know what a call/put is, Greeks, assignment, and many other important aspects then only paper trade and BUY calls/puts do not SELL. You’ll only lose your initial debit for that trade if you’re on the BUY side.

Day trading can't make millions. This is because they can trade a few thousand trades per day making 10-50 cents per share. It will never add up to millions. But, they can make 100-300K dollars per annum. Also, even day traders take money out from day trading and 'invest' in index fund. Day trading is just one way to earn wages just like real estate brokers or sales people in your company who get paid commissions which varies every month.

1% per day is not possible but 2-3 % per week (averaged over 50 weeks in a year) is possible. But it takes concentration and focus of an ace tennis player.

I will never and have never watch/ed tiktok for financial advice, but is a knowledge of how a hedge fund operates how how it moves money between brokerage/bank in any way help you know the cost of investing in a particular stock? What about financial statements of a potential candidate to consider including into a stock portfolio? Quite often financial statements of a company and the day of its release happen to have different impact than taken just plain "good financials = stock up" thing. Also how can people navigate through a financial jargon bloat to get meaningful information? Books like the one you presented does not explain it in a way accessible to others. Instead of thinking about tiktoker advice, we could start to think about what regulator has to do to present information in a digestible manner, instead of straight up banning people (like in Australia, one of their financial influencers that covered taxiation in that country got a ban for this)

So (sell,put) means your buying shares at a certain price that you chose And (sell,call) means your selling 100 shares that you already own at certain price and date?
